Classical House of Learning
Free history-based unit studies are offered at this website for grammar and logic stages using classic children’s books.

Lit Charts
Free downloadable literature guides of classic titles are comprised for middle and high school levels.
Online literature summaries, guides and book notes for teens, college students, teachers and homeschoolers are collected here. This is the link to the free page, but additional titles are available for purchase.

Simply Learning Kids
This site presents nicely made free literature units, with a Montessori flare, using popular picture books.

A ton of booklists on this site suggests titles for children. Be sure to scroll down and find the link for “Reading Lists_page 2” to continue and view all of the lists.

Accelerated Reader Bookfinder
If you are interested in points for the Accelerated Reader program, or if you would like to get an idea of what grade level the book your child is reading, this is a great free resource. A description of the plot is also provided.

Classical Homeschooling 1000 Good Books List
This free resource provides literature lists by grade level and by author.

Common Sense Media Book Lists
Several free booklists at this website are based on topic or age level. More Best Lists for entertainment are also available, and reviews by children and parents provide ideas on content appropriateness of titles.

Read-Aloud Revival
Sarah MacKenzie, author of The Read-Aloud Family, encourages homeschoolers in reading aloud to their children. Booklists are available for free as a large PDF file, or view the individual booklists by topic and request a copy by e-mail. Her blog and podcasts are also free, but you can upgrade to a premium membership that includes book clubs, master classes, a resource library, and more. Local homeschool moms have raved about this website for reading inspiration!
